Teevee pundits seem to relish the opportunity to futz with us in a time of fear and Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show once again succeeds in proving, through well chosen clips and witty commentary, that Glenn Beck is one of those fear-producing catalysts. Mr. Beck has a right to voice his opinion – did I just say that? – but I am one of those people who cannot even look at him for ten seconds without the certainty that my head will explode like that ConSec executive in David Cronenberg’s “Scanners.” At least in that movie telekinesis was the excuse for brain matter expulsion.

Beck irritates me beyond the capacity of my frontal lobes to remain forward. I believe all manner of opinions should be allowed and I enjoy the freedom to consider if they are torrents of shit being force-fed or viable shit that can be spoon-fed to the gullible.

I am a sea gull who only loves bulls as those brooding and majestic well-hung animals in pastures of my youth; mounting and claiming their bovine mates much as do the mountain people we fear who come down and Christmas shop in Wal-Marts for child bride accessories in the hunting and home improvement aisles.
